Tutorial 5:

This tutorial is one of the most important tutorials to learn. First we create some fun text using Script Fu and then we get into the important task of scaling and re-sizing Image files. This tutorial helps you to understand the size and quality of your image files and learn how to prepare them for Offset printing. If you are serious about learning Graphic Design this tutorial is a must. You must have completed Tutorial 1 and installed The GIMP CMYK plug in and the Adobe ICC profiles before commencing this lesson. (All in Tutorial 1).

Changing and Correcting an Images Color balance in CMYK.
Changing color in CMYK mode is much easier than using RGB mode as you will see after performing this simple Tutorial. This Tutorial features an animated slide show created using The GIMP.

Repairing an old Image using Contrast and Clone Tool.
In this Tutorial learn how to restore Contrast to an old faded image and then use the Clone Tool to restore missing and damages parts of the Image. This Tutorial features an animated slide show created using The GIMP.

Tutorial 8: Adding PDF,PS and EPS file saving to The GIMP
One of the most important tools you can install on your computer is PDFCreator, this program is Open source and free. It allows you to create PDF files from any Windows application. It also allows you to combine Documents to make a multi-page PDF Document.
Tutorial 9:
Preparing a Custom Header and mastering the Blend Tool.
In this tutorial we will explore the different uses of the blend tool starting with a basic Image, cropping, using blend effects and then adding Text using Script Fu.
Tutorial 10:
Creating Transparent backgrounds. Working with Drop Shadows.
In this Tutorial we will cut an object from the background and then save the file as a .png file with a transparent background. We will then create a drop shadow which we will save as a separate Layer. This is a follow on from Tutorial 9 and both Images are designed to be used in a document published in Scribus.
